Thousands of USF students, faculty, staff and alumni travel the globe conducting research, teaching and studying. Their impact is felt through their work and cultural interactions.

The top photo was taken in Hato Chami, Panama, by USF nursing student Rebekah Woods. Students traveled abroad to provide nursing care to indigenous people in the mountains of Panama for three weeks.

She says, “My trip to Panama was eye-opening, heart-wrenching and life-changing; it opened my heart to use nursing as a way to impact and make a difference for people worldwide.”

The other photos were taken by Toivo Voll, USF IT staff member and political science master’s student in Kyoto, Japan; Bobby Bishop, USF alumnus in Managua, Nicaragua; and Salwa Mansour, USF international student in Marrakech, Morocco.

The images were submitted to the annual International Photo Competition sponsored by USF World. More about the contest and a gallery of winning photographs can be found at http://global.usf.edu/photo_contest.php.
